June 20, 2010 – V. Korenev's Jubilee

 On June 20, 2010 the IGUMO faculty held a special celebration in the honour of V. Korenev, People's Artiste of Russia, Art Director of IGUMO Drama Department

 The star of this distinguished actor came out all of a sudden. His first part, a part of Ikhtiander in the cult film «the Amphibian Man» brought fame to V. Korenev, an undergraduate of GITIS Academy at the time. Later in life he stopped counting numerous cinema and theatre roles.

 He is still an idol for millions of people even at the age of 70. For many years V. Korenev has been acting on the stage of Moscow Drama Theatre named after Stanislavsky K. S. and there is still a storm of applause for his play.

 The profession of an actor requires great mental and physical efforts. However, V. Korenev brought up on Stanislavskiy’s traditions is ready to preach actorish art to students at IGUMO&IT! He takes the position of the art director at the Drama Department of our Institute and his pupils have already won the audience at the best theatres of Moscow and on the cinema screen. Furthermore, the former students and their Art Director often share the shooting stage. It’s vital for Professor Korenev to communicate with the young generation and so is for his students…

 Professor Korenev is an amazing, talented person who appreciates a friendly atmosphere of the faculty and keeps up family traditions.

 The faculty of IGUMO IT held celebrations to mark Professor Korenev's anniversary. The colleagues wished him every success in his career, good health and talented students!
