Translation Agency: the Start-up Phase

 The Year 2011 is proclaimed as a «Year of Business-Training» at the Institute for the Humanities and IT. That is why periodically we are going to inform you about the activities of the IGUMO Business Centre.

 Today the IGUMO Translation Agency has caught our close attention.

 The IGUMO Translation Agency is a dynamic linguistic portal which produces professional and to order of the Institute made translations for the English version of the IGUMO&IT official site. The result speaks for itself: the immediate response in Europe has been demonstrated in the offers of collaboration from Italy and in a request from Slovakia for training at our Institute.

 For many years the Institute for the Humanities and IT has been practicing students’ exchange programs. This year a group of exchange students from Warsaw has already undertaken a training course at IGUMO. They gave the best references to IGUMO. No wonder that IGUMO was appreciated at its true value! The Institute for the Humanities and IT is a dynamically developing establishment of higher education which widely practices both training methods of foreign countries and the traditional techniques of Russian higher school. 

 The Translation Agency is ideal for providing students’ with unique work background. Firstly, literary translations imply knowledge in different subjects and thus demand a creative approach; secondly, the students can get an invaluable experience from Galina Gumovskaya, a highly-skilled linguist and the supervisor of the project; and finally, the students perfect their interpreting skills and try to coordinate the knowledge of the other culture mentality with the linguistic traditions of the Motherland. No doubt it will give our students additional advantages on the specialists’ labor market.

 IGUMO’s new development strategy presupposes improvement of the in-course work-related training system. And it has become customary for the Institute that the program of ultimate responsibility in education really works!
