The Department of Foreign Languages

 A world without borders is something out of the sphere of fantasy. In recent years the borders between nations become more transparent. And those people who master foreign languages feel self-reliance! Are these skills essential for life? Certainly, they are. It is needless to say that there are no borders for specialists’ development in the field of linguistics.

The Department of Foreign Languages trains specialists in four language areas of specialization which are of high demand in our society.

The Department has good material resources, necessary academic books, audio and video materials, learning aids and supplies issued by the faculty of the Institute, a language laboratory, studies of British, Spanish and German cultures with special technical equipment.

The students and professors of the Department of Foreign languages take part in annual conferences, publish their research and papers in the Proceeding of the Institute, participate in theatrical performances, sport events (bowling, swimming, indoor soccer, etc.). Meetings, master classes and lecture courses which led by foreign experts guest-professors are commonplace for our students. 

What type of specialists will the graduates of Foreign Languages Department be in 2014-2016?

They will be students who possess:

– good knowledge and practical skills

– ability easily to change one activity to another

– fluency of foreign languages speech in various spheres of socio-cultural communication

– ability to think analytically and innovatively

– organization and teamwork skills

In view of my official duties I have to communicate directly with our partners from Germany, Italy and other European countries. To business partners` mind I have a good knowledge of English and German. The knowledge acquired gives evidence of high standard of the faculty and their methods of teaching languages.
