Experience of Canada to the Linguists of IGUMO

 On April, 22nd, 2008, E.Rafikova, a lecturer from the University of Winnipeg, Canada gave a master class in English to the IGUMO students in the subject «Logical Models of Reading and Writing».

 E.Rafikova presented various methods of writing different kinds of work to the fourth and fifth year students. The guest-lecturer also focused on the right course of stylistic analysis of fiction.

 There was also organized a seminar for the students of the first, second and third years which was dedicated to the systematization of strategies and stages of working with a foreign text. E.Rafikova touched upon new methods of vocabulary semantization at different stages of foreign language mastering – at the beginners’ level, at the intermediate level and at the advanced level.

 Such classes are extremely useful to the Department of Foreign Languages. To up-grade the students’ command of the English language, to learn the methods and techniques of teaching English abroad and to broaden cultural outlook – those are things which help students to easily adapt to their chosen profession.
